Introduction to Positive Behavior Supports

This is a 4-course series about Positive Behavior Supports. This includes a basic introduction to PBS concepts, Universal Supports, Tier II and Tier III Supports, and Understanding Function of Behavior and Providing Universal Supports.

Management Strategies for Implementing Positive Behavior Supports

These modules explain the six phases of implementing Positive Behavior Supports for organizations and managers. Trainings include an overview of the six phases, and training on each of the phases.

MASS PBS

Positive Behavior Supports (PBS) is a regulatory framework designed to encourage systems change for the purpose of improving the quality of life (QOL) for people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD). It consists of a mix of proactive, preventive strategies and evidence-based interventions that help decrease challenging behavior and maintain a stable environment for all.

Site maintained by the Center for Developmental Disabilities Evaluation and Research/E.K. Shriver Center/UMass Chan Medical School on behalf of the Massachusetts Department of Developmental Services.
